The Tamang Heritage Trek: is a relatively new trekking route located near the traditional Langtang Valley area, offering an experience that is distinct from the typical traveler trails. The region is home to densely populated Tibetan villages that have maintained their traditional lifestyles for generations. There are numerous trekking routes in the Langtang region, but the Tamang Heritage Trail is situated adjacent to Langtang, making it a less frequented path compared to popular routes like Gosaikunda and Lauribina Pass. Recently opened to trekkers, the Tamang Heritage Trail invites visitors to explore and appreciate the local cultural heritage, enhancing their trekking experience in Nepal.

Along this route, trekkers can witness breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains and a rich array of wildlife, including bears, leopards, and red pandas, as well as musk deer. In March and April, the rhododendron forests burst into life with various species of trees, birds, and butterflies. Outline Itinerary:

Detail Itinerary Short Itinerary

Day 01:Arrival at the (TIA) in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel (1,400m) 20 min Drive to Hotel.

Upon receiving your flight schedule, our airport representative will be waiting for you at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu. We will pick you up and transport you to your hotel in a private vehicle, where you will spend the night in Kathmandu.

Day 02:Kathmandu city tour in a private vehicle and further tour planning (1,400m) 7 hours tour.

After breakfast, our tour guide will arrive at your hotel in the late morning to pick you up for a day city sightseeing tour based on an itinerary provided by the company. We will begin our tour by visiting four stunning UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the architecturally rich Kathmandu Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath dedicated to Lord Shiva, the fascinating Swayambhunath Stupa—also known as the famous Monkey Temple—and Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas of Nepal. After completing our visits in the late evening, we will head to the Mountain Miracle Treks & Expeditions office for a brief meeting to discuss our trek. During this meeting, we will introduce your trekking staff and go over preparation details, including shopping and other necessities for your trekking adventure. You will then return to your accommodation for the night in Kathmandu.

Day 03:Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi (1,460m) 8 hours drive.

We will leave Kathmandu in the morning for Syabrubesi, which is also the starting point of the Tamang Heritage trek. Our journey will take us along a winding road with many twists and turns, offering us the chance to enjoy stunning views of Manaslu, Annapurna, and Ganesh Himal. We will continue until we arrive in the small town of Syabrubesi, where we will spend the first night of our trek.

Day 04:Trek from Syabrubesi to Gatlang Tamang Village( 2,238m) 6-7 hours walk.

Today marks the beginning of our trek. We will start our climb from Syabrubesi and make our way to the enchanting village of Goljung, where we will be rewarded with magnificent panoramic views of the majestic mountains. Our journey will then continue to Gatlang, a large Tamang village situated on a sloping landscape that features over 200 stone houses. We will spend the night in this beautiful village.

Day 05:Trek from Gatlang to Tatopani- (Natural hot spring) ( 2,607m) 7 hours walk.

We begin our trek by descending to river level, taking a steep drop to Thangbuche while enjoying stunning views of the Ganesh Himal and Langtang Ranges along the way. Next, we pass by the Chilime Hydropower Dam and climb up to Tatopani. The name "Tatopani" translates to "hot water" in Nepali, referring to the natural hot springs found there. Although the hot springs were affected by the earthquake that struck Nepal in April 2015, we are fortunate that they have since returned to their sources.

Day 06:Trek from Tatopani to Nagthali Ghyang(3,165m) 4- hours walk.

Today we will trek from Tatopani to Nagthali Ghyang, passing through the small Tamang settlement of Brimdang. In Brimdang, you can enjoy a tea break and take a short visit to the old monastery, which boasts impressive architecture and offers a wonderful view of Ganesh Himal and Shengine Peak. As we make our way through the dense, elevated woods, we will have an hour and a half walk up to Nagthali, which is situated at the top of a hill, 3,165 meters above sea level. Here, we can appreciate the breathtaking views of Langtang, Sanjen, Kerung, and Ganesh Himal before spending the night.

Day 07:Trek from Nagthali to Lingling(1,737m) 5 hours walk.

Today, after having breakfast at the hotel, we walked up to the Tarucha viewpoint (3,780m), which took us about two hours as we gradually ascended from Nagthali, mostly through a forest of blue pines and oak trees. Once we reached the top of Tarucha, we were treated to fantastic panoramic views of the mountains and could see several different Tibetan villages. After taking some pictures, we returned to the hotel and then trekked down to Thuman (2,338m), where we stopped for lunch. The trek continued down to the Bhotekoshi River, which took about an hour and a half. We crossed the bridge and after another 20 minutes of walking, reached our overnight stop in Lilgling.

Day 08:Trek from Lingling to Khangjim (2,235m) 5 hours walk.

Today, we trek from Lilgling to Khangjim. After having breakfast, we climbed up to Briddim, a beautiful village inhabited by the Tibetan Buddhist Tamang people. Briddim is a Tibetan Buddhist town perfectly situated in the lap of the Langtang Himal. Here, we visit the Dukchu Gomba religious community.

In Briddim, most of the houses are made of stone and are primarily occupied by people of Tibetan descent. The town truly resembles a traditional Tibetan village. We stopped there for lunch, and after eating, we continued to our destination for another hour, walking on completely flat terrain, surrounded by bushes and enjoying the beautiful sounds of chirping birds. We spent the night in Khangjim.

Day 09:Trek from Khangjim to Syabru Besi(1,460m) 3-4 hours walk.

Today is our last day of the trek. We wake up late in the morning and have breakfast at the hotel. On this day, we will walk down to the Bhotakoshi River, which will take us about three hours. We will then cross the bridge to the small town of Syabrubasi, arriving there by lunchtime. The walk takes us through a little jungle and past some bushes, as well as cattle farms. Once we arrive in Syabrubasi, we will have lunch at the hotel and spend some time relaxing around the town before staying overnight.

Day 10:Drive(122km) from Syabru Besi to Kathmandu(1,365m) 6-7 hours drive.

In the morning, after breakfast at the hotel, we will drive back to Kathmandu, covering a distance of 122 km. This journey will take approximately 6 to 7 hours. We will spend the rest of the day packing and possibly trying to catch up on some late gift shopping. Mountain Miracle will celebrate our successful trip to the Langtang Valley by hosting a farewell dinner. and spend the night in Kathmandu.

Day 11:Final Departure from Kathmandu(1,365m).

As per your flight departure schedule, the airline requires us to be at the airport at least three hours before your departure time. Therefore, we will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) for your final departure.

Nepal entry visa: you can get a visa easily upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan international airport in Kathmandu you need to bring 2 passport -size photos.
